Christopher Olson!

I just realized I haven't been on my blog in months... And then realized that means I haven't written anything about my amazing boyfriend. Or the story leading up to us meeting and start dating!

January 24th- The day I met Chris. He came down to Saint George with one of my friends to work the EFY express session. He stayed at my house for the weekend and we had a ton of fun. When the weekend was over I said goodbye and have a nice life. I honestly thought I would never see him again... Heavenly Father and EFY had other plans.

February 8th- We both ended up working the EFY express session in Colorado! It was a fun day and we worked together and teased each other like we had know each other for years! After the session was over all the counselors went to IHOP to hang out some more! I crawled under the table so I could sit by him... Of course I used the excuse that I wanted to sit in the corner. After IHOP I got his phone number because I wanted it and again used an excuse... This time it was because 'I needed to coordinate rides the next day!' Man I'm good :) the next day we traveled back to Utah... Chris and I spent the next few days texting back and forth just getting to know each other!

February 12th- Well today is the day I told Chris I liked him!!! He responded less than am hour later but it felt like 7 hours later telling me that he liked me too! Yeah for being bold. It totally paid off!

February 21st- our first official date! We went over to my brothers house and the 3 couples (and 2 kiddos) had a fun night in! We had dinner and played games. Chris fit in perfectly with my family and again it felt like I had known him forever! It was a blast and we laughed so much that night... I'm pretty sure my abs (or lack thereof) hurt the next day!!!

February 22nd- Today we went to his friends wife's baptism. It was beautiful... Everyone kept asking him (in Spanish) if I was his girlfriend... An he kept saying yes! (in his defense I did tell my friend we were dating first :) so when we left the baptism and we were walking to his car I grabbed his hand. I figure if he was going to tell people we were dating I would act like it! Again being bold payed off! Winning :)

February 23rd- I drove back down to Saint George... I was already missing Chris. A boy my aunt had been trying to set me up with for months finally texted me and asked me on a date. I realized Chris and I hadn't really talked about being exclusive so I asked him what he thought about it. Before Chris responded I said no to the other boy because I realized I didn't care if Chris was ready to be exclusive or not I didn't want to date anyone but him. To my excitement Chris said he didn't want to date anyone else either so we decided to make things official and be exclusive! Yeah. I was one happy girl :)

Feb. 28th- March 2nd- Chris came down to Saint George and we had a fantastic weekend! We went on a double date with my parents Friday night! Classic dinner and a movie... It was so great to just sit next to him and bask in the fact that we were in the same city! Long distance was not my friend (and I knew it would only get worse when he left for Alaska) Saturday we went off roading to the Grand Canyon with my parents. We had a picnic and launched rockets... It was a perfect day! That night we went and watched part of my cousins baseball game! Sunday we walked around the temple and then went to church with his grandparents. After church we had dinner and played 5 crowns (I totally won) and then Chris went back to Provo :(

March 8th- I came up to Provo and we spent all of Saturday together. In the morning we went to the outlets with my brother an his family. Chris had his brother and girlfriend come up and meet us. All of us went out to lunch. then we went with them to Cabela's. After that we went to his friends wedding and then the wedding dinner with all the family! After that we went off roading which is seriously one of my favorite things ever!!! After that we met up with a lot of our EFY friends and went to IHOP. (this time I didn't have to make up an excuse to sit by him :) it was great to see my EFY people! After that it was like 1 in the morning and Chris took me home. He pulled me in for a hug and then we talked for a minute he pulled me in for another hug and I never wanted him to let go... But he did and then we talked for another minute and he pulled me in for a third hug and I seriously was in heaven I felt so warm and protected in his hugs... They are my favorite!  While we are hugging he asked if he could kiss me before he let me go inside and I said yes! Then I got the best first kiss of my life! It was a simple kiss as far as kisses go... But I have never felt more respected in my life. It was seriously the best moment and I never wanted it to end. I went inside and this conversation took place over text

Me- well now how am I suppose to sleep?
Chris- Haha I'm the wrong person to ask that question to :)
Me- fair point!
Chris- just so you know I love how open and candid you are about what you are thinking! There's not many people I have met like you!
Me- I just feel like happy moments should be shared not kept in. Why hide a good thing!
Chris- I feel like that's a solid foundation or a successful relationship. That's why I like it... And you!
Me- well good! Because I like you too!

Then I really had a hard time falling asleep. Let's just say waking up for 9:00 church the next day was really hard!

March 20th- I moved up to Provo today! I honestly didn't think it would happen because I loved Saint George and didn't really love Provo... But I was really starting to like this boy and wanted to spend as much time as I could with him before he moved to Alaska. I told people I was moving to Provo to help my sister in law who was on bed rest and that was defiantly part of it... But it was mostly to live close to Chris! We spent tons of time together and it never really matter what we were doing!

April 22nd-28th- We spent a week in Colorado visiting his family! It was a ton of fun spending time with then and getting to know them better! And it was fun to spend the last week with Chris without having to share him with school! It was a great vacation that was a ton of fun! We went to a Rockies game. We watched his sister compete in the barrel races with her stubborn but wonderful horse! Paige took first in everything! And won overall for the whole season! Which means she gets a buckle... She was pretty excited about that! We went on a couple different dates. We watched movies. We just spent a perfectly wonderful and relaxing week together in beautiful Colorado!

April 30th- Chris left for Alaska. It was hard for me to say goodbye (or see ya later) I really didn't know how I was going to survive 5 months without this wonderful man. But I didn't really have a choice :) so I let him go! I have had a couple really hard days where I missed him a ton since he has been gone but then I was able to visit him in Alaska!

May 23rd-27th- I went and visited Chris in Alaska! It was the best thing for me! I loved being there and spending time with Chris. He has truly become my best friend and I was having a hard time with him being gone! In Alaska we went on hikes, watched movies, snuggled, held hands, rode the train, kissed, and just spent 4 amazingly wonderful days together! I needed that vacation more that I realized. When I got back I still missed him all the time but it was a different kind of miss. It was the kind where you are happy they are doing what they love but you want them near you because you can't picture your life without them! A kind of miss I think I can handle for the next 4 months a lot better that whatever was happening before I went to visit! Here's to hoping the next 4 months fly by... This will probably be the only time in my life I hope for the summer to go by fast :) needless to say I really like this man and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for us!
